Brian Kirsch is a graduate in Industrial Economics from the University of Nottingham, a Chartered Insurance Broker and Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute. Brian is Managing Director of Event Assured which is the recognised insurance specialist in the corporate events and C&IT sector. His company has been actively involved in the events sector since 1991, and offers a range of specialist insurance products designed in consultation with professional event organisers to meet their special needs, and those of their clients.
Brian is a former political activist and stood for Parliament at the General Election of 1997. He has since retired from active politics to concentrate on running his business, but retains an interest in all things political and regulatory, from a business perspective.
He has been a member of the Eventia (and previously ITMA) board for the last 7 years, and is now its longest serving board member.
He says:
“I was a keen supporter of the merger between the ITMA and CEA, which I am pleased to see has been a successful coming together of associations with many common interests.
Throughout my time on the board my main interest has been in regulation and political issues affecting the membership. Modern business is increasingly affected by new laws, rules and regulations, and like any trade association we must make an input to the process that brings these changes about, and where possible modify them so that they meet the needs of the real world in which we operate.
The association has been transformed in the last two years, and although much is still to be done, we can make it a bigger and a better-heard voice for the events industry. “
