Andrew has been in the Hotel, catering and events business for over thirty years. Starting with The Savoy Group back in 1972 as one of its first trainees. Since then his career has spanned through hotel management and catering companies in the U.K. and overseas.
When Andrew first joined the board of the CEA he was in the position of Group Business Development for Milburns Restaurants Limited, who catered in many prestigious buildings around the country including Shakespeare’s Globe, The British Museum, V&A, National Maritime, Pump Room and Assembly Rooms in Bath.
Compass group took over Milburns back in 2000 and Andrew was made redundant in 2002, which is when he, along with his business partner Julie Cooper, set up FAB!
FAB! have a number of activities that they undertake:
• Event organisation and management
• Accommodation and venue finding
• Conference organisation
• Wedding planning
• Marketing and PR consultancy
Relevant background
Having been involved with CEA for a number of years then through the process of amalgamation with the ITMA and now with Eventia, Andrew has been involved primarily with the events. He has been involved with the organisation of the awards Dinners for the past five years. Chairing the awards committee on behalf of Eventia is seeing both the UK Awards and the International Awards become bigger and better each year. His expertise is knowledge of event organising, venues and catering and also marketing and PR.
