The board of directors

Composition

The maximum number of Board Directors is 18.  These will include 12 elected directors who will be entitled to vote on Board resolutions.

Of the 12 elected directors, seven will be International Event Organiser or UK Event Organiser Members and five will be Partner Members.

Overseas Partner, Affiliate and Honorary Members will not be entitled to stand for election to the Board of Directors.

In addition to these 12 elected directors, the Board will have the discretionary power to appoint a maximum of four additional directors, who will not be entitled to vote on Board resolutions.

The Executive Director and the Treasurer will also be Board Directors in a non-voting capacity, by virtue of their office.

Election to the Board

Half of the Board Directors retire by rotation at each Annual General Meeting.  The retiring directors will be those who have been longest in office. Non-elected directors are not subject to retirement by rotation but may be removed by the Board at its discretion.

Chairman and Vice Chairman

The Chairman and Vice Chairman will be appointed by the Board from amongst the serving Board Members. While a Board Director is Chairman, the retirement by rotation rule will be suspended for a continuous period of two years.
