About us

Eventia is recognised as the official trade body of the events and live marketing industry providing leadership and representation on important issues to Government, regulators and the corporate community. The association was created in January 2006, following the merger between two complementary trade associations: the Corporate Events Association (CEA) and the Incentive Travel & Meetings Association (ITMA). The British Association of Conference Destinations (BACD) was subsumed into Eventia from January 2009.

Eventia promotes the highest standards of professionalism and best practice* in the industry. All members of the association adhere to a Code of Practice* which governs the spirit and method of all commercial activities and conduct of business.

  • To raise the importance and profile of the events medium as a key component in the marketing communications mix;
  • A conduit for the exchange of ideas and expertise in events through training, education and events;
  • A centre of excellence providing commentary, guidance and advice on all legal and other regulatory issues affecting members' businesses;
  • A point of contact for corporate event planners seeking impartial guidance on supplier selection;
  • A forum for the exchange of non-competitive information;
  • A central representative body to put the views of the events industry to government departments and agencies, Parliament, the European Commission, and other relevant organisations;
  • Networking events and introductions between Event Organiser and Partner members;
  • Recognition of excellence through Awards programmes;
  • To support the future of the industry by providing links between course providers and industry ensuring relevance of degrees, diplomas and training provided by 3rd parties. And to facilitate student placement throughout the industry;
