Eventia has launched an Ambassador programme in order to recognize a small number of high profile and influential industry people who have been outstanding contributors to the association in the past, and to ensure that their experience and expertise continues to influence the Board.
Each Ambassador has been selected because of their specific area of knowledge, expertise and experience in the industry. The position does not carry Board status but it is envisaged it would almost exclusively be filled by former Board Members.
Ambassadors include:
Commenting on her appointment Aileen Reuter said, "I am delighted to take on the role of Eventia Ambassador and feel it is an excellent opportunity for me to stay connected and support Eventia on an on-going basis. Eventia keeps growing from strength-to-strength and this is one further way Grass Roots can demonstrate commitment to the association and the industry."
Nigel Cooper said, ‘I am very happy to accept this role. I stood for the Eventia Board elections on the basis of exploring consolidation opportunities in the industry. The fact that I can advise the Board on this and other issues without full Board responsibilities suits my circumstances ideally.’
Leigh Jagger added, ‘I am honoured to have been asked to take on the role of Ambassador for Eventia. It is very exciting to be able to stay involved and continue to support all the valuable work that Eventia does despite stepping down from the board earlier this year.’
John Walker remarked, 'The simple statement 'the more you put into something, the more you get out' should be the mantra for all Eventia members. Having been actively involved in Eventia for a number of years - and experienced first-hand both our industry and association grow in numbers and professionalism - I can now look forward to continuing my direct involvement, albeit as an arms length Eventia Ambassador.'
Commenting on the appointments Eventia Chairman, Mark Saxby, said, ‘All of our Board Members work incredibly hard for the organization but this is a great way to recognize those that have added considerable value and to ensure that we can benefit from expertise on an ongoing basis.’
