Cisco joins Eventia and signs up to speak at Summer Conference

Cisco has become the latest in a growing number of corporate companies to join leading events industry association Eventia.

Along with brands including the COI, Barclays, Linklaters, UCAS Media, FICO and JP Morgan, Cisco has signed up to engage and connect with Eventia’s broad membership of events industry professionals.  

Gerd De Bruycker, Cisco Group Manager European Event Marketing, said: “Our Eventia membership is a logical step. We are looking forward to networking, learning and sharing best practices with other members of this well recognised events industry organisation.”  

As part of its membership, Cisco Live’s Global Marketing Manager Staci Clark has teamed up with Active Network’s Global Strategic Director Anthony Miller to present a keynote at the Summer Eventia 2011 conference in Cardiff from 26-28 June.  

Staci Clark and Anthony Miller will present ‘Using digital technology to enhance engagement’. The session, planned for the opening day of the conference, will detail the new digital landscape and how events businesses can attract new audiences and strengthen relationships with existing delegates via a choice of new media channels.  

This keynote will be followed by specific workshops on social media, mobile and virtual so that delegates can gain practical advice after being inspired by this new world view.  

“We were looking for an educational opportunity for our team and the chance to join other corporate bodies in shaping the future of the events industry.  A trusted organisation like Eventia provides a great platform to achieve those goals,” said Ben Atherton, Cisco, European Event Marketing Strategy.  

Other corporate members will also be participating in Summer Eventia 2011. A panel of corporate event planners discussing the pitch process and chaired by Izania Downie, Eventia Ambassador, is in the process of being finalised.
