The countdown… yes – once again the clock is ticking, we’re counting down the weeks to Eventia’s 2011 summer event. The Summer Eventia provides an excellent mix of educational, networking and social activities designed to inspire, inform and entertain event professionals at every level within your organisation.

Cardiff & Co. and Mercure Holland House 

Eventia are delighted that the City of Cardiff will be hosting The Summer Eventia in 2011.  Cardiff is a vibrant cosmopolitan city and one of the UK’s leading conference and event destinations.  The capital of Wales is a city of contrasts; innovative architecture sits alongside historic buildings and Welsh culture rubs shoulders with modern technology.  The bustle of the city centre is only a few strides from peaceful parklands and the castle grounds.  

Just a few minutes from the city centre is Mermaid Quay in Cardiff Bay, home to an abundance of waterfront restaurants and cafes.  The 200 hectare freshwater lake ensures there is plenty to see and do both on and off the water.  Visit the Senedd, the debating chamber of the National Assembly for Wales and Wales Millennium Centre, a world class performing arts centre. 

Mercure Holland House is a luxurious four star hotel in a prime location within minutes of the city centre.  This premier hotel blends urban sophistication with ultra modern styling and exceptional levels of service.  The hotel can host events for up to 700 delegates providing a full range of conference suites and has a dedicated business floor available with breakout areas for meetings, lunches and networking sessions.  The hotel also has a leisure club and spa.

What’s the event all about?

The event will feature an exciting mix of keynote presentations, topical discussions and interactive workshops, along with a number of excellent motivational and networking activities.

The Programme Committee is made up of some of the most influential individuals from across all sectors of the event industry and they are working hard on the programme during the first quarter of this year.  Each year the programme at The Summer Eventia is fresh, up-to-date and appropriate to the varied audience that attends the event.  2011 will be no different and we are excited to be speaking to a number of key speakers with a view to adding new topics to the agenda in addition to the well-established workshops that feature and are so well-received each year. 

Event Objectives

As the trade association for the events industry in the UK, Eventia understands the need to offer an event that fulfils the objectives of the various different groups that make up our community.  The Summer Eventia 2011 will offer a programme that covers key objectives for suppliers, hotels and destinations, corporate, association and public sector event organisers and event agencies.  These objectives include:

- Networking and building contacts with industry peers
- Accessing educational information and professional development tools within the events sector
- Understanding various commercial models and exploring new business opportunities
